The Eureka 71B does an excellent job of picking up pet hair (and other debris) from your carpet/upholstry. The hand-held tool is also excellent in crevices. I read (in a different review) to place a tissue over the filter cup in order to mimize "mess" and it worked very well. I highly reccomend this product! I've tried other vacuums but this one does the trick. I also thought the price was very reasonable. Even though you have to plug it in (which I think is necessary for the power) it is well worth removing animal hair in difficult small places. I am very happy with this hand-held vacuum.
